The NYPB is the main project of the IPBA's College of Piping and Drumming.
The Aim of the NYPB is to offer young pipers and drummers an opportunity to meet, perform and learn together.
This is achieved through the learning of a joint concert programme which is performed in a different venue each year.
Each member of the NYPB wears his/her own band kilt with an NYPB polo shirt. The polo shirt is provided free to all performers.
There is an 'A' band and a 'B' band. The 'A' band performs all the concert material while the 'B' band caters for less advanced players.
Branches of the NYPB have been set up in Donegal,Tralee, Cork, Limerick,Dublin, South East.
Most of the tuition takes place in the regions and in the local band halls around the country.
Travel to and from the concerts is paid for by the College of Piping and Drumming.
The National Youth Pipe Band is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland
We are interested in hearing from young pipers and drummers who are interested in playing.
If interested e-mail or phone Brian MacMahon on 086 8326316.
Send applications to Brian MacMahon, 39 Pondfields, New Ross, County Wexford.
Video Clips for common time drum scores, 3/4 drum scores and O'Neill's cavalcade have recently been added. Download video clips here.
